TENTATIVE SCHEDULE FOR PRIDE 2007

BELOW IS THE TENTATIVE SCHEDULE FOR NEXT WEEK'S PRIDE FESTIVAL. IT IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE BUT SHOULD BE RELATIVELY ACCURATE.

FRIDAY JULY 20TH: PEOPLE CAN START ARRIVING AND SETTING UP AFTER 4PM.

SATURDAY JULY 21ST. SET UP PRIOR TO 10AM

FESTIVAL BEGINS AT 10AM
SIGN UP FOR HORSE SHOE AND OTHER TOURNAMENTS; WELCOMING ADDRESS AND OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS;

10:30 TO 11:30 LET'S GET ACQUAINTED.
1130 TO 12:30 COMMUNAL LUNCH AT THE FOOD AREA
12:30 LET THE GAMES BEGIN
Saturday, July 21 -- afternoon workshops open to all
1 pm -- TELLING PERSONAL STORIES w/ Adam Bass of GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation)
Discussion of how one's life experiences can sway the media and the public to accept LGBT people. Examples of individual
stories will be used.
2 pm -- CONFRONTING THE LEGISLATURE w/ Jennifer Ring of the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) of the Dakotas.
Why we won the marriage fight the first time around and why we lost the second time. What is down the road for the next
five years?
3 pm -- WINNING THE FIGHT w/ Shawn Warner of the Victory Fund (supports LGBT friendly legislative candidates). Legislators and legislative candidates are seeking our support. Why and how we need to work together.
4 pm -- COOPERATING WITH OUR ALLIES w/ Kate Looby of Planned Parenthood of MN, ND & SD. The defeat of the abortion
ban and the very close almost defeat of the marriage amendment illustrate the importance of LBGT and straight allies working
together.
Saturday, July 21 -- evening
5 - 8 pm -- musical entertainment

6PM LINDA BOYLE PERFORMS SET ONE
7 pm -- YOUR FUTURE LEADERS. The formal announcement of Equality South Dakota, introduction of the EqSD Board and
recognition of the EqSD Steering Committee.

9-10:30AM COMMUNAL BREAKFAST

11AM - 1PM CELEBRATION OF THE SPIRITUAL AND COMMUNITY
